What we’re looking for
We’re looking for a law graduate or someone who has completed a law conversion and LPC or SQE1. You should be passionate about developing your knowledge in employment law, with a strong focus on providing efficient, commercially aware services. You should be capable of working efficiently in a largely fixed-fee model, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. You will also need to demonstrate commercial awareness and high standards of client care.
We are looking for someone whose behaviours align with the values of WorkNest, and a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment. Experience working in a legal environment or as a paralegal is preferred but not essential.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
As a Paralegal with us, you'll have the opportunity to draft contracts, handbooks, and a variety of letters and documents for clients, following templates and working closely with our advisers. You'll also support your colleagues with preparing Employment Tribunal (ET) cases and assist with legal research. Over time, you’ll gradually take on more responsibility, including providing basic telephone and email advice to clients on employment law queries, all with the support and guidance of your team.
It’s important to make sure all client advice is clear, practical, and delivered on time. We pride ourselves on maintaining high standards, and we’ll be there to support you every step of the way. You’ll also have the chance to participate in ongoing training to help you grow and develop your skills.
You’ll work alongside a supportive team, contributing to providing high-quality advice and legally sound documents to clients, helping us offer the best fixed-fee legal and employment law services in the UK. Additionally, you may be asked to assist with other tasks as needed to help meet the business's goals.
How We Support You
At WorkNest, we are committed to investing in your professional development. If you have the LPC, we will support you with registering for CILEX and completing a portfolio of evidence, which will help you qualify as a solicitor.
If you already have completed SQE1, we will provide full support as you work toward SQE2. We offer paid study support for half a day per week, as well as covering CILEX and SQE2 fees.
You will also receive paid time off for exams and direct supervision from senior solicitors. Regular employment law training is provided, and we pride ourselves on offering an inclusive and nurturing environment to help you grow.
