Why join us
WorkNest, part of the wider Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) division owned by Axiom GRC, is expanding fast. Our group includes experts in Employment Law, HR, Health & Safety, Cybersecurity, ISO, and Compliance – powered by pragmatic advice and cutting-edge technology. We’re looking for a driven Management Accountant to lead financial reporting and analysis for the Legal SRA division of WorkNest, which contributes 15% of group revenue. You’ll act as a finance expert, partnering with senior leaders, supporting commercial decisions, and managing a small transactional finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone detail-oriented and proactive who enjoys autonomy, fast-paced environments, and making a real impact.
What We Offer
- Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
- Great benefits
- Supportive and Inclusive work culture
- Opportunity to make a real impact, grow your career in a supportive team, and be part of a business that values your ideas and expertise.
What we’re looking for
In this role, you’ll take ownership of reconciling and analysing transactional data in our ERP system (Xero) to ensure the accuracy and completeness of figures in the P&L and balance sheet. You’ll work closely with the transactional finance team and other source systems to prepare all reporting for the business and Axiom GRC, ensuring it meets stakeholder needs. A key part of your responsibilities will include preparing management accounts with detailed variance analysis and insightful commentary, as well as maintaining consistent accounting processes, identifying efficiencies, and driving improvements. You’ll also support the budgeting and forecasting process, provide robust challenge to budget holders, and ensure all compliance and regulatory returns (such as VAT, P11D, and SRA returns) are submitted accurately and on time.
You’ll work closely with the SRA senior leadership team to begin building strong business partnering relationships, helping them understand financial performance through enhanced reporting, detailed analysis, and the development of meaningful KPIs. You’ll also play a key role in the continued integration of the Legal SRA businesses into the wider WorkNest division, contributing your expertise to systems implementation and aligning divisional processes. Managing and coaching both direct and indirect reports will be an important part of the role, ensuring tasks are delivered accurately and on time. You’ll also support the Financial Controller and Finance Director with wider projects, gaining exposure to a variety of business initiatives in a supportive, fast-paced environment.
About You
We’re looking for a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA), or someone in the final stages of qualification with significant experience in a similar role. You’ll bring at least three years of hands-on experience, with the confidence to liaise with colleagues at all levels and the ability to think strategically while managing competing priorities. Strong judgement, initiative, and delegation skills will be key, along with the ability to engage and influence non-finance stakeholders to help drive positive change.
You’ll be joining a supportive team within a business that truly values collaboration and has an amazing, inclusive culture. If you’re someone who thrives in a team environment, enjoys sharing knowledge, and wants to be part of a workplace where your ideas and contributions are encouraged and appreciated, we’d love to hear from you.
